Just under three miles today at Brock Hill.
This is an old favourite walk that we have walked many times! It was a lovely sunny day, but not many people around at the time we went. You have to choose carefully when you go to one of the car parks on Rhinefield Ornamental Drive as it is so popular!
Lots of forestry work going on. It looks as though they are clearing the centre of Poundhill Inclosure to make a more open area, perhaps for the deer? None to be seen today.

This is a variation on a walk that we have done many times before! In the past, when you join the road at Rhinefield Cottage, we have followed the road up around the corner and back onto the cycle track. This is not ideal as Rhinefield drive is popular and busy. So today, we crossed straight over and followed a lesser track through the woods to the cycle track. Lovely, but a bit muddy – probably not one for later in the year!
The photos dont show it, but it was busy here today, we even saw a Duke of Edinburgh group out – which in previous years has been a very common sight, but not this year! The stretch through Poundhill Inclosure (going around Blackwater car park) is a deer conservation area and we did see a couple of fallow deer who darted across the path ahead of us – no time for a photo.
